Scholastic Excellence Award Info:

The Scholastic Excellence Award enforces the tough and smart image of the Marine Corps by recognizing noteworthy academic achievements, as well as leadership excellence. Nominees should be exemplary students who are role models and leaders of their peers. Recipients need not necessarily be "Straight-A" students, he or she can be the student who showed the most academic improvement in the past year.

In your nomination process, the student must:

-Be a high school senior;
-Maintain a grade point average of 85 or above;
-Be recognized as an exemplary young citizen and role model for younger students; and
-Be recognized as having best exhibited academic achievement and leadership as a high school scholar

This award is to assist you, the high school counselor, in honoring a deserving student who has excelled academically throughout high school. The recipient need not be your valedictorian or even on the high honor roll. The purpose of this award is to recognize a student who has most excelled in academic achievement and has maintained the leadership standards of a high school scholar.
